100-91

*This is a list of some of the most memorable characters in everything from movies, tv, and general pop culture. There is less emphasis on the order in which they're numbered, rather the walk down memory lane. Agree or disagree, you'll surely enjoy the look at the characters you likely know well.*

#100.
Character: Mary Poppins

From: the wind
One of the earliest, live action Disney films, "Mary Poppins" took the top honors of its time and remains an impeccably delightful film. The melodic voice of Julie Andrews sang some very famous tunes, one of which is a word we've probably attempted to spell, say, and understand even in adulthood. The magical film takes us into paintings, onto rooftops with surprisingly talented dancing chimney sweeps, and warms the hearts of families everywhere. She is particularly proper, eloquent, strict, and very mysterious. Whether on the big screen or on Broadway, Mary Poppins will always be the nanny of our dreams.

#99.
Character: The Phantom

From: The Opera
He has the voice of an angel, an angel of music that is. He has a dark past and holds many secrets beneath the gilded opera house under which he dwells. He lurks in the darkness below but has created a candlelit haven of music and magic. He will guard you to the death. He will murder for you. He wants to steal you away from the world to keep you all to himself. He is feared given his gestures of romance tend to be killing people publicly, but the depths of his heart and his love are unfathomable. Christine is heartless for choosing anyone else over this weighted soul.

#98.
Character: The Fonz

From: Happy Days
He set the standard for cool in this sitcom. He was the lovable rebel with the infectious catchphrase and signature gesture, "Ey!" With his leather jacket, shiny smooth hair, and motorcycle, the Fonz is still a well-remember character from a show our generation really only knows from Nick at Nite. He was the original tv bad boy. Fonzi takes the cake as tv's most beloved rebel.

#97.
Character: Donkey

From: Shrek

He likes waffles, dragon ladies, and scary ogres. Donkey fears nothing and shows what friendship should be: unfailing, unrelenting, unbreakable even when pushed far, far away. The character is positively hilarious. He never takes no for an answer and shrugs everything off with his optimistic smile. He has the biggest heart and is the only one who could help break the ice around Shrek's heart. We can't help but love him and all his wacky antics.

#96.
Character: Doctor Emmett Brown

From: Back to the Future... and Hill Valley
He is from the past, present, and the future. This unorthodox scientist is responsible for one great invention: the time machine. He took a car called the Delorean and turned it into an absolute icon. He is a peculiar man with a dog named Einstein. His lab assistant is a high school student. He rips off Libyan terrorists in his free time with no remorse. He is a genius/mad scientist. Dawning the iconic, wild white hair and goggles, the Doc introduced us all to the flux capacitor and has us all believing we totally understand how time travel words. He's a movie icon with one of the most famous quotes ever, "1.21 jw!"

#95.
Character: Superman

From: Krypton... and DC Comics
In 1938, we were introduced to the first of the American superheroes and became familiar with this style of comic books. Superman was the quintessential superhero. He was an every day guy named Clark Kent, but when danger called, he stepped into a phone booth and stripped away his normalcy to replace it with a giant S on his chest. He knows no fear, and his moral compass seems ever pointing towards perfection. He has had many unnatural powers over the years: flight, super speed (faster than a speeding bullet), super strength, and x-ray vision. He ushered in the age of the superheroes and has been represented many times in films, comics, tv shows, and more films over the years. He remains incredibly popular and will likely see a whole new generation of fans thanks to the upcoming epic film reboot "Man of Steel." He is a cultural icon, and the letter "S" could never stand for anything else.

#94.
Character: Bugs Bunny

From: Looney Toons
We grew up watching this peculiar rabbit avoid stuttering hunters and other enemies in a comical fashion. He outwitted Elmer Fudd, Marvin the Martian, Yosemite Sam, the Tasmanian Devil, and many other characters who became equally popular and remembered. He never showed fear and is most often calmly eating a carrot. He is wildly entertaining. Born in the 1930's, this bunny won over audiences worldwide and broke the rules by addressing the audience directly in the middle of scenes. We grew up mirroring his, "Eh, what's up, doc?" Cartoons have changed so much since his days, but there is no forgetting this "rascally rabbit."

#93.
Character: Forrest Gump

From: Greenbow, Alabama
Our home-grown hero has a below average IQ level, talks slower, and clearly he's not the sharpest tool, but we fell in love with him as he depicts his life and major landmarks in American history. When he was a young boy, he could hardly walk and had to wear braces. Audiences were enamored to watch as he shed the shackles and runs through an interesting life. He becomes a high school football star, war hero in Vietnam, a ping pong champion, accidental witness to the Watergate Scandal in the making, moons the president, speaks at a massive hippie rally in D.C., runs across the country, becomes a successful shrimp boat captain, and eventually a very rich Apple investor. Through it all, his pure hear never wavers. He helps Lieutenant Dan through life's trials and eventually wins him over. His devotion to his lifelong love Jenny leads him to fatherhood. The film is emotional and incredibly memorable. After all, "Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna' get." If we remember nothing else, anytime we say "Run, Forrest, run," we'll remember fondly this lovable face.

#92.
Character: Jack Skellington

From: The Nightmare Before Christmas
Surprisingly, this dark Disney film features some frightening characters in a grim setting. Jack leads the way as the lovable monster fixated on celebrating Christmas in their town of Halloween. He is our twisted Santa Claus. The Pumpkin King is usually responsible for teaching the citizens of Halloween Town to scare people on their favorite holiday, but this year he had his heart set on tackling a different holiday-Christmas. They know nothing of Christmas, though, so their attempts are a bit on the dark side. It's a clever story with a catchy soundtrack and memorable character. No character stood out more than our star with his pinstriped pants, removable limbs, and unique smile. He serves as the unlikely hero, but he relates to fans Disney might otherwise never have appealed to.

#91.
Character: Mr. T

From: general pop culture
As an actor trying to break into Hollywood, Mr. T used his persona to gain attention and became his own icon. He has a signature look and is easily identified to this day. When we see him, we are hoping he says the words with the same authority as we remember; "I pity the fool!" Even after all these years off the air, he maintains his persona, venturing into the virtual "World of Warcraft" as his own character, proof that he will forever be remembered...because we pity the fool!

90-81

#90.
Character: Marty McFly

From: the future... and the past
The films became immensely popular and remain a pop culture staple. Marty is our main character, a representative of that cool kid yet underdog. Who else could pull off a bright orange puff vest in an everday fashion situation? He's friends with a mad scientist and grabs a ride around town by latching onto cars and sliding behind them on his skateboard. He ends up in the past and dodging all sorts of strange situations, though none more than his mother being enamored with him. In a race against time, Marty makes his mark in the past, rocking a school dance with their first dose of rock music. Michael J. Fox gives him a unique voice and personality establishing him as one of the most recognized and popular characters in the history of American cinema.

#89.
Character: Buster Bluth

From: Arrested Development
He is the incredibly awkward, accidentally romantic, learned youngest son of the Bluth family. He suffers from "crippling" panic attacks, is "neither seen nor heard," is an Army man, and he becomes a "monster." The entire cast of the show is riddled with quirky character, but Buster is a stand-out due to his...uniqueness. Of all the strange family dynamic, Buster takes the gold when he accidentally enters into a romance with his mother's best friend, who shares his own mother's name. We cheered for the couple... until we were reminded that she changed him as a baby...it gets really weird really fast. He's been to school for just about anything useless one can study. He lives with his mother, and the two have a reliant yet hilariously combatant relationship. She signed him up for the army to prove a point. He fails at everything and is able to avoid being shipped off when his hand is bitten off by a rogue seal. Then comes the claw. This brought a whole new level of awkward... and sheer terror! There is no one quite like Buster Bluth.

#88.
Character: Tony Stark

From: Iron Man ... and Marvel
We can sum up this Avenger with his own words from the film: he is a "millionaire, playboy, philanthropist." Tony Stark is a wealthy weapons designer/manufacturer with a passion for little beyond pleasure. But when the tables turn on him, he fights back by building an iron suit which he uses to liberate those who need help and fight against those threatening the innocent. He's the bad boy of the superheroes since he refuses to play by any rules. Don't let his lack of seriousness deter you, however. This man is a technology genius. While he may take a lot lightly, he comes through where it counts and demonstrates all the characteristics of a true hero... minus the impressive amount of sarcasm. Of all the heroes to save the world, Tony Stark/Iron Man is most definitely the most entertaining.

#87.
Character: Crybaby

From: Crybaby
Johnny Depp is always an outstanding character, and in this early role, he makes fun of popular camp classics like "Grease" and other social plays. The movie itself is surprisingly funny. It's an unorthodox, over-the-top brand of comedy. Johnny Depp ensures you girls everywhere are watching intently and swooning at the sight of him in his bad boy leather look with a guitar in hand, a romantic voice, and the moves of Elvis. He's a rebel who breaks hearts with his tattooed teardrop, awesome motorcycle, and his true passion for romance. It's meant to be more satirical and funny, but Depp took this film and turned it into every girl's dream guy!

#86.
Character: Michael Myers

From: Halloween
*cue the creepy music!*He's the haunting source of our hesitance to be home alone at night. As the frightening star villain of the Halloween series, Michael Myers began the revolution that took American audiences to a following of true horror.  There have been other monstrous main characters, but none are quite as eerie as our Halloween nightmare come true. He never speaks. He never stops. He apparently can't die. He murders with a knife and terrifying accuracy. He is always wearing this creepy mask/wig. He has a hulking stature and is always wearing the jumpsuit of sorts. There have been so many sequels and reboots to this series that it's impossible to count him out. Every Halloween, we're reminded of the mask, the music, and the murdering menace capable of instilling fear in all of us. *switching the lights on right now* Just hope you don't find out you're somehow related to him!

#85.
Character: Harry Potter

From: 4 Privet Drive
We have grown up with our favorite wizard. Everyone knows the story. His parents were killed by the most terrifying wizard of all time, but he somehow survived the attempt on his life with only a lightning bolt-shaped scar on his forehead to remind him of that horrifying night. He is reluctantly taken in by his relatives who abuse him and attempt to keep him as far away from magic as they can. But his fate was sealed in infancy. We join him on his journey of friendship, love, and the fight against evil. He is the hope everyone has, and he backs it up by being a pure hero. He is a relentless warrior for good and is truly incorruptible. He wand will wave in pop culture for decades to come known as one of the most successful book and film series' of all time and everyone's favorite wizard.

#84.
Character: Mr. Miyagi

From: The Karate Kid Series
He taught us all how to "wax on, wax off." He may look benign, but this teacher isn't so innocent. He has all the patience and wisdom in the world. It takes a lot to get him angry, but if you are so unlucky, he could kill you with his pinky before you could blink. With a calm attitude and some serious moves, the name Mr. Miyagi will always be synonymous with this kick-ass karate instructor.

#83.
Character: Greg Goldberg

From: The Mighty Ducks
He may not be the greatest goalie in the history of hockey, but he is certainly one of the most famous. He is the funny fat kid with a personality and attitude like no other. Even though he's a questionably talented goalie, Goldberg brings a lot to the table... mostly comedy. He is hilarious, taunting enemy players with unrelenting confidence. He is entertaining to watch, and in the end, he proves his skills in front of the net.

#82.
Character: Alex Forrest

From: Fatal Attraction
She is every man's worst nightmare. She seemed so sexy and sleek, but once a married man bedded her, he unleashed the psychopath lurking behind those messy blond curls. She attempts suicide, cooks innocent bunnies, and she will off you if you stand between her and her man. She most memorably listens to opera music while staring vacantly into space, switching the light on and off...seriously creepy. We may fear her, but it's safe to say she'll always be referenced and remembered as the crazy chick from Fatal Attraction. Cheaters everywhere beware. It's a great way to scare your significant other into fidelity.

#81.
Character: James Bond

From: The Bond Films
He is the ultimate spy and the most desired ladies man in the world. For decades he's been featured in the iconic films surrounded by a lovely lady or 3. We all know him as Bond...James Bond. He defeats enemies with a suave, sophisticated ease. He's had many faces over the years but only one name.

80-71

#80.
Character: Austin Powers

From: England
He was a bona fide sex symbol in the 60's. Now's he's awakened in the future and doesn't realize that he is a bit out of place. He dresses like a count from the 1600's. His teeth are heinous. His dancing is a bit wacky. His pick-up lines are second to none. He is supposed to be a feared spy with his "judo chop," but he seldom accomplishes much without the help of his lovely lady friends. "Yeah, baby!" The hilarious film series may be a decade old, but it is guaranteed that watching it again will inspire a great deal of laughter.

#79.
Character: Master Yoda

From: Jedi High Council
This miniature green elder is an expert with light sabers. He walks with a can like a boss. And he speaks in a strange for of backwards. He certainly unique in appearance, but he makes his mark by being unthinkably wise and powerful. Featured in every film, tv show, and all things Star Wars, our little green master is known not only to Star Wars fanatics. This character transcends social barriers to have established himself as a permanent fixture in pop culture... and we all enjoy imitating his brand of speech from time-time. He is the ultimate spiritual guide, but never underestimate the serious badassness of Master Yoda!

#78.
Character: Screech

From: Bayside High
It was the quintessential 80's show from the fashion to the dialogue. There were many stand-out characters on this show, but Screech was the nerd we all fell in love with. He was clumsy, couldn't dance to save his life, and never got the girl. He was surrounded by the coolest kids in school and took part in their shenanigans even into college. Screech was the geeky tv hero from "Saved by the Bell."

#77.
Character: Freddy Krueger

From: your nightmares
This haunting, complex character sustained the reputation as one of the most frightening villains of all time, but he is so much more than that. This twisted character has a sick sense of humor which he uses to terrorize the children on Elm Street. He creeps into his victims' heads and kills them in their sleep. With razors on his hands, a burned face, and his famous striped sweater, boiler rooms everywhere will remind us of horror movie icon Freddy.

#76.
Character: The Rock

From: Dwayne Johnson
The Rock became the people's champion in the wrestling ring. His catchphrases, confidence, extreme physique, and general badassness rocketed this wrestler into being known as one of the most memorable wrestlers to take the ring. He rose to the top by brazenly challenging and defeating the greats. He was a bad boy and broke all the rules, and the fans ate it up. He coined the terms "candy ass," "jabroni," and we can all "smell-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l what the rock is cooking!" Now a big movie star, the rock has outgrown the ring in some ways. He is no sell-out, though, wowing crowds by returning to the ring for some fun recently. Ladies love his shocking smile, insane muscles, and his use of his eyebrows. And no matter where his career may take him, he is immortalized as the rock and one of the most memorable wrestlers/entertainers of all time.

#75.
Character: The Crow

From: death
It is an absolute gothic cult classic. This was a dark film for sure, depicting the murder of himself and his bride-to-be. A crow taps on his tombstone whereupon he awakens. Now he is out for revenge against the thugs who took everything from him. He is immortal now and decides to look like the undead. He wears black, paints his face pale white, and puts dark make-up around his eyes to make him appear more frightening. His extreme skills with a gun and other forms of fighting establish him as a force to be reckoned with. And his dedication to his slain lover makes him the epitome of romance. The original actor was accidentally and tragically killed on the set while filming a pivotal scene in the movie, but the tragedy further immortalized the dark film that would extend its life to other sequels and dipped deeper into pop culture.

#74.
Character: Kermit the Frog

From: The Muppets
Who would have thought that an amphibious puppet would have grown into an icon? It's not easy being green, but Kermit sure makes it look that way. He was destined for greatness with his signature voice, mannerisms, and a colorful cast around him. What frog do you know who can date a pig diva? While ruling his own show, he soon became a staple on Sesame Street and eventually came to dominate Hollywood on and off screen. You can picture him now with you arms flailing in the air and shouting "Yaaaayyy!" in his muffled voice. What childhood would be complete without befriending the most famous frog in existence? I say none!

#73.
Character: Captain Hook

From: Neverland
In this remake of the famous Disney cartoon, Dustin Hoffman took this villain to a whole new level. He demands authority every second he is on screen. His sense of fashion is impeccable from his wig to his shiny silver hand... His twirly mustache decorates a powerful mouth. He speaks with authority and is the epitome of piracy... so long as there are no alligators/clocks around! In this film, he earns his worth by being one of the most memorable villains in the history of film. Now, "Bring me Peter Pan!"

#72.
Character: Farmer Ted

From: Sixteen Candles
Did you just hear that dreaded diddy playing when you saw his face? The king of the geeks stole the show in this 80's classic. Farmer Ted was the insanely confident, sexually-ambitious social outcast who never knew his own label in his school. His band of geeks follows his command which is surprising given how puny this brace-face is. He talks a big game and loves to hit on the main character. He is continually shot down but does manage to convince her to hand over her panties, which he later boasts as proof of his sexcapades. Then circumstances lead him into a super hot car with the drunk prom queen. He's a smooth-talking shrimp who stole our hearts...which is funny because now that he's all grown up, he's actually pretty good-looking.

#71.
Character: Beavis & Butthead

From: MTV
In the early 90's, MTV's generation met these 2 dim-witted boys from Texas. They are fairly simple to understand since they are rather dumb. They love metal music, they have ridiculously moronic laughs, and they seldom attend high school. On a never-ending quest for the ladies, shenanigans ensue along the way. They remain incredibly identifiable and often imitated. Oh, bunholio!

70-61

#70.
Character: McLovin

From: Superbad
When 2 nerdy best friends decide to go on a quest for alcohol and girls, they turn to their friend, the quintessential nerd named Fogell. He hands the fake id and creates a Hawaiian native old enough to buy beer. Just one problem-he has only a first name: McLovin. But his sudden transition to badassness is born when he fools 2 less than professional cops and embarks on an epic journey. From shooting signs, taking down bad guys, to landing a hot chick at the party, McLovin was destined for pop culture stardom. Any young adult now can tell you exactly who McLovin is and that he is the man!

#69.
Character: Dr. Evil

From: Austin Powers
Just saying the name, can't you picture his pinky going to his mouth? His strange accent and awkward mannerisms make him one of the most memorable movie characters of the millennium. He raps, dances, likes sharks with "lasers" attached to their heads, enjoys the company of his miniature clone, and he is the absent-minded villain. He falls during critical moments and falters paramount speeches. But this villain rules the world!... well, the world of comedy. Now pay me "$100 billion dollars!"

#68.
Character: Neil Patrick Harris

From: everything awesome
This man is the man-an absolute god. Everyone worships his awesome powers over women and the stage. He's had some spectacular roles over the years, but I have found that one of his best is definitely playing Barney Stinson on the sitcom "How I Met Your Mother." The show features an all-star cast, but it is difficult to find anyone able to outshine Sir Neil. From Broadway to White Castle to helping the President of the United States light the White House Christmas tree, Neil Patrick Harris is a talented entertainer in all shows but mostly just life. He is phenomenal and will long be remembered for his fearlessness.

#67.
Character: Cookie Monster

From: Sesame Street
We all grew up watching this puppet show. Of all the familiar furry faces, Cookie Monster is an absolute icon. It matters not how old you get. When you hear his name, you can picture him stuffing his face with his favorite treat and making strange sounds. No cookie is safe. Hide your cookie jars and save the milk-the cookie monster is still wrecking havoc on cookies everywhere. If only there were a baked good rehab he could attend. Until that day, this monster is off the wagon!

#66.
Character: Jason

From: Friday the 13th and Crystal Lake
Thanks to this horror movie icon, no one will ever look at a hockey mask the same way. He haunts the grounds of his murder sight with a machete in hand. He is large, fast, and silent. Much like fellow fear-sparker Michael Myers, Jason doesn't speak which makes him all the more terrifying. The only thing that can keep this serial killer in check is his mama... a masked murderer with a mama complex-definitely memorable. The film series has been rebooted and has plenty of sequels. Triskaidekaphobia aside, he is the reason we all fear the day the calendar date aligns with Friday.

#65.
Character: Tim the Tool Man Taylor

From: Home Improvement
Funny man Tim Allen stepped into a sitcom to become a clumsy, witty, and manly man of all things home improvement on a tv show. We watched as everything he so confidently altered or built ended in disaster. He isn't what you'd expect a man's man to be, but he does fit the shoe with his personality. He loves cars, grunts pretty often, and his quirky relationship with the show's cohost and best friend kept us tuned in for years. He isn't the most gender-sensitive man as his wife often points out, but he loves his family and 3 sons. This Detroit man is hilarious and very memorable...I kind of want to go to the fence and see if Wilson will be there to talk to now.

#64.
Character: Captain James T. Kirk

From: Star Trek
This former small town bad boy took his actions to the skies with Starfleet. He refuses to accept "no win scenarios" and will do whatever it takes to succeed. He is cocky, intelligent, and sarcastic. He was the youngest captain in Starfleet history, leading the famed "Enterprise" on their voyages through the galaxies. He plays by on one's rules, and he has no need. He can kick some serious ass and does so with the cool demeanor that only Captain Kirk can have. The character was most famously portrayed by William Shatner. Now in the impressive film reboot of the shows, Chris Pine give the Kirk smirk from the captain's seat. The new film will soon be released, again introducing a whole new generation of viewers who will soon be trekkies.

#63.
Character: Chandler Bing

From: Friends... and New York
He is the son of a romance novel writing vixen and a drag queen. He was destined to be a little on the strange side. He is a corporate analyst who hates his boring job, but he can't help who he is. He is the cynic of the group, always poking fun at everyone else. They like to point out his nuisances, particularly the way he pauses after certain words. His facial expressions are wildly entertaining. He is the good guy who doesn't really get the girl. He is stuck with Janice and fear. He is a big kid who likes toys, chocolate milk, and fruity pebbles. He's a frightening dancer. He's owned a pet duck and chick. He is a character all around, and a hilarious one at that. In the end, he falls in love with his fellow friend and ends up a father of twins. He's not the most emotionally expressive man, but he has a heart of gold and is always a consolation to his friends. And he and Joey's questionable bromance is ever entertaining. We love Chandler. He's always good for a laugh... but never accept serious advice from him!

#62.
Character: Franque

From: Father of the Bride
While the films are considered chick flicks, this crazy character steals the show with his comedic personality. His accent is impossible to decipher. He personality is beyond over-the-top. He is a talented wedding planner, and given the wedding we witness, he is a good one. He doesn't come cheap, but the end result is pure fantasy. While Martin Short is always funny, this role really gave him leave to shine in his quirky manner. And beside Steve Martin's uptight character, the pair's back and forth relationship turned friendship makes the character even more irresistible. We might never understand a word he says, but we will always remember the odd antics with which he said them.

#61.
Character: Kevin McCallister

From: Home Alone
During our youth, we all added "Home Alone" to our holiday movie marathons. The star of this film is Kevin, the luckiest kid in the world. He got to do what every kid dreams-take over the house, eat whatever you want, light firecrackers indoors, watch mature movies, set up pranks, and talk trash to clumsy burglars. Whether you're a girl or guy, I can bet you've made this face a time or two in the mirror. You probably didn't apply aftershave first, but you can't help but laugh and this of this Midwestern kid who defeated the bad guys and got away with a whole lot while his parents were away.

60-51

#60.
Character: Samantha Jones

From: Sex and the City...and New York
Many assume this a secondary character on the popular series, but Samantha is so much more than a sex goddess. Sure, she is up front with her lusty endeavors, but she has a far deeper character. She has a deep heart rooted in her friends. Throughout the show, we witness her sexcapades with zeal. She is lovably loose and has more confidence than should be allowed by law, but as the story progresses, we get to see many facets of her character. We watch as she struggles with the prospect of monogamy a couple of times. Then she became a martyr for breast cancer with her role in some touching scenes featuring her fighting, spunky spirit. Nothing can bring her down. Her unbreakable spirit, along with her no holds barred sex life, make her a remarkably delicious character.

#59.
Character: Borat

From: Kazakhstan
Another offensive, controversial, and immensely entertaining creation of Sascha Baron Cohen was introduced to the world in the new millennium. This "mockumentary" follows a middle eastern man on his pursuits in America. Here he pokes fun at some of the greatest and worst aspects of our culture. While the character maintains innocence in all this, we see how racist, sexist, and generally uncultured he is. It's a love hate relationship with this character, but no matter, he is a memorable character with a name always linked to this image. "Very nice!"

#58.
Character: Jimmy Dugan

From: A League of their Own
Tom Hanks has had many beloved roles in film history, but this role cannot be overlooked. He isn't the well-groomed, well-mannered man we're accustomed to seeing from him. He scratches his balls, drinks excessively, chews tobacco, makes women cry, and holds one of the world's longest urination records. Jimmy Dugan is a character to remember who gave us the phrase, "There's no crying in baseball."

#57.
Character: Phoebe Buffay

From: Friends... and New York
As one of the most popular sitcoms of all time, Friends featured a truly talented ensemble of characters. All were unique, but Phoebe took the cake on strange characters in this tale. Originally she was more earthy than odd, but as the seasons went on, her character became stranger and stranger. She plays the guitar, but that's an overstatement. She has all the confidence in the world and feels that nothing is off limits in conversations. She is brutally honest but with a kind heart in the end. She "battles pink robots," enjoys kinky sex, and she has had more attractive men pursuing her than any of the other girls on the show. She is stunning, and when someone takes the time to talk to her, they quickly fall in love with the strange antics of Miss Phoebe Buffay.

#56.
Character: Terminator

From: The Terminator series
Arnie gave us one of the most famous movie quotes ever when he took on this role. This mortal machine makes a feared assassin. He feels no fear or remorse. He kills with superb accuracy. He fiercely protects the ones nearest him. Arnie may now be the "govenator," but that proves further how popular his Terminator character was. The daunting "I'll be back" and "Hasta la vista, baby" forever remain ingrained and imitated in popular movie culture.

#55.
Character: John Keating

From: The Dead Poets Society
Robin Williams is a superb character by himself, but in this film, he displayed seriously dynamic talent. Teaching these uptight academics to "seize the day," he manages to make reading poetry a form of rebellion. Suddenly it's cool to spout sonnets. We don't remember Robin Williams for being a serious actor since most of his famed roles have been hilarious, but this film earnedhim some Oscar credibility and taught us all to enjoy fighting the established order.

#54.
Character: Captain Rhett Butler

From: Gone with the Wind
He is the ultimate romantic man. he isn't the traditional loverboy, though. He is the self-assured, sophisticated, unexpected hero of the film. He doesn't mask the truth nor does he bother with frivolity. He is a surprisingly kind-hearted and respectable man. He is powerful, regal, charming, authoritative, and yet a sweet companion. His smile and attitude gave us some scintillating cinematic moments such as "Quite frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn." He evades the law with his smooth talk, and he uses his cunning wit to manipulate those around him. The rebel reformed slightly to avenge the southern troops as the war drew to a close. He was insightful, even philosophical with the way he viewed the world. He was smart, but he found himself a slave to his heart which fell into the conniving hands of Scarlet. He was a brave man who no one dared start a battle with as he's rumored one of the "best shots in the country." Along with money, this man took Georgia by storm. He was a complex character, though. His closest friend was a prostitute and his beloved daughter was killed in a horse-riding accident. We can see that no matter his shrewd mannerisms and ruthlessness, he has a big heart. What woman could resist the mustache-y charm of Captain Rhett Butler?

#53.
Character: Imhotept

From: Ancient Egypt... and "The Mummy"
"Death is only the beginning." Whether he's draped in decaying flesh, attempting to romance his dead girlfriend, or destroying the world, this mummy rose from the tomb to show us all just what lay beyond death. In 2 epic films, we witnessed this high priest fall from grace only to rise again as the walking, talking apocalypse. He made for a horrifying villain. He brought back plagues, sucked people dry, and could unhinge his jaw to make some seriously strange faces. He does it all for his undying devotion to his lover Anuck-su-namun. This makes him far more than just a heartless, killing fiend; he is a lover lost in a world that belongs to him. Recipe for disaster... and an awesome adventure!

Character: Wicked Witch of the West

From: Oz
She is the most maniacal witch ever to grace a broomstick. With her bright green complexion and shrieking voice, this wicked witch terrorized the inhabitants of Oz. Her minions are homemade flying monkeys. She is not a fan of water at all. She does enjoy threatening people and would really love a pair of sparkling red shoes. The classic film remains a pop culture icon, each character unique. But this wicked witch stole the show, remaining an imitated character and one of the most memorable movie villains of all time. Beware, she will get you... "and your little dog too!"

Character: Willy Wonka

From: his chocolate factory
The book is part of every child's reading list at some point. And whether you grew up in the generation watching the early film or the newer version, you're familiar with the magic and wacky antics of this candy man. Whether Gene Wilder or Johnny Depp, you get to know this character as superbly... strange. He is sarcastic, cynical, a little unhinged, musical, and very smoothe. He's a snazzy dresser with a pep in his step. His factory is a thing of dreams. Well, unless you're one of the naughty guests. He teaches everyone lessons in humility in a peculiar manner. The top hat serves as a status symbol of his sweet presence. If you look at many of the candies you eat today, you'll still see the Wonka presence. From book to film to candy shelves everywhere, Wonka is a fascinating character with a very present impression.
